FIFA 22 Will Feature Over 100 Licensed Stadiums

The stadium list for FIFA 22 has been confirmed by EA Sports earlier today and there are quite a few new additions this year that fans will appreciate.

In FIFA 22 fans will finally be able to play matches on Estádio da Luz and Estádio do Dragão, homes of the Portuguese giants SL Benfica and FC Porto. Both stadiums were heavily requested by fans in the past and in the upcoming FIFA title players will have the chance to score on two of Europe’s most famous venues.

Their addition will make the Portuguese Primeira Liga more attractive in FIFA 22 as the league recently overtook Ligue 1 to become a Top 5 league. Many of you might not know but this will not be the first presence of the two stadiums in the FIFA series! Last time both stadiums featured in FIFA was in 2007 with the release of FIFA 08.

Moving on, Bundesliga will have have one more licensed stadium in FIFA 22, home of Arminia Bielefeld, SchücoArena. The stadium with a capacity of 26.515 will be featured for the first time in a FIFA title and will join other German stadiums available in FIFA 22 like BayArena, Signal Iduna Park or Mercedes-Benz Arena.

LaLiga fans will also be happy to hear that Cádiz CF’s Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla will appear in the next FIFA instalment and Real Sociedad’s home ground Reale Arena (Anoeta Stadium) was remodelled to reflect the real life renovation of the stadium.

Premier League will have the complete stadium package with all 20 stadiums of the 2021/22 season featuring in-game. The only exception will be Brentford Community Stadium, home of the newly promoted Brentford FC, that will be available via a free DLC in early 2022. This is the exact same scenario of Elland Road that was added via a title update in FIFA 21 in January of this year.

Unfortunately, iconic stadiums such as Allianz Arena, Camp Nou, Allianz Stadium or Stadio Olimpico will not return as they are exclusive to Konami eFootball. Moreover some of the rumored stadiums to be added in FIFA 22 like Banc of California, El Sadar, El Monumental or La Bombonera will not feature as well.

In the case of La Bombonera, EA Sports scheduled a stadium scan earlier this month after signing a new partnership deal with Boca Juniors but due to the COVID-19 restrictions in Argentina the scan has been postponed until it is safe for the developers to fly to Buenos Aires. We will most likely see the return of the stadium in FIFA 23.

In total there are 101 licensed stadiums and 30 generic stadiums. All these FIFA 22 stadiums will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC.

The game will be released worldwide on October 1st but you will be able to play it earlier on September 22nd thanks to EA Play.
