EA Sports has recently published the full list of leagues and teams that will be available in FIFA 22 and there are quite some surprises.
Fans all over the world have always waited anxiously for the reveal of the leagues and teams list ahead of a FIFA game release in hopes that their favorite clubs will make their way in the most popular football simulator. And this year there are a few additions that will make some fans happy.
What’s New?
When EA announced the list of leagues and teams early this weekend the first major addition on the list was the Indian Super League that was already announced two months ago. However, in the meantime, the league was removed from the list without any explanation from EA Sports although the official twitter account of ISL re-confirmed the league’s presence in FIFA 22:
🚨 ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
The Hero Indian Super League will feature in @EASPORTSFIFA 22 🎮
Get ready to play with your favourite #HeroISL clubs and players in the most authentic football experience available 🤩

In regards to clubs, all the newly promoted teams in the available FIFA 22 leagues will be included of course and there are a few new additions in the ‘Rest of World’ (RoW) league with APOEL FC (Cyprus), Hajduk Split (Croatia), Ferencváros (Hungary) and Wrexham A.F.C (Wales) confirmed for FIFA 22. In the case of Wrexham however, the team got pulled off from the official list same as ISL.
The Welsh club got recently acquired by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and many fans suspect that the reason of their removal from the list must be related to a marketing stunt prepared by the new owners that at the time of writing this article got published:
Today, “Rest of World”. Tomorrow… the world? @Wrexham_AFC @EASPORTSFIFA pic.twitter.com/4NTE2WHGeM
— Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) September 12, 2021
Although the Italian Serie B won’t feature in FIFA 22 due to its exclusivity to Konami eFootball, the next clubs will be present in RoW league:
- AC Monza
- Benevento
- Crotone
- Lecce
- Parma
Previous available Serie B clubs like Brescia, SPAL or Chievo Verona will not appear in the next FIFA instalment.
The Argentinian Superclásico will be authentic in FIFA 22, as both Boca Juniors and River Plate will be licensed with authentic kits, badges and rosters in all game modes. No more Buenos Aires or Núñez in Career Mode.

Finally there will be a new national team added in the Men’s International section of the game, the previously announced Ukraine National Team.
What’s Removed?
We are happy to report that no previously available leagues have been removed in FIFA 22! All leagues present in FIFA 21 will be available once again in the next FIFA edition.
The only exception will be the Brazilian League commonly known as ‘Liga do Brasil’ that will continue to feature clubs with authentic badges and kits while the rosters will continue to be generic and filled with fake players just like in previous years.
The same will apply to any Brazilian clubs involved in the CONMEBOL Libertadores and Sudamericana game modes. Out of the 20 clubs involved in the 2021 Brasileirão Série A, 18 will be present in FIFA 22! The exceptions will be Sport Recife and América Mineiro that won’t feature in-game at all.
Moving on, EA Sports and Serie A recently confirmed their partnership and we will have 16 teams licensed from the Italian top division in FIFA 22! Juventus, AS Roma, Atalanta and Lazio unfortunately will feature with generic names, badges and kits in the next FIFA iteration.
Luckily the rosters and player likeness will continue to be authentic for all Serie A teams.

If you enjoyed playing with Men’s National Teams in FIFA 21 then we have some bad news. EA Sports confirmed that the following 17 national teams will not return in FIFA 22:
- Bolivia
- Bulgaria
- Cameroon
- Chile
- Colombia
- Ivory Coast
- Ecuador
- Egypt
- India
- Paraguay
- Peru
- Slovenia
- South Africa
- Switzerland
- Turkey
- Uruguay
- Venezuela
Pretty shocking decision by EA to say the least. There have been no explanations from EA for this drastic change but there are some rumors that they are preparing something for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup, maybe a DLC with all qualified teams? Only time will tell.
The silver lining of this situation is that the remaining 32 national teams in FIFA 22 will be fully authentic with real badges and kits. However, Brazil national team will continue to feature generic players.
Shocker: There will be No African country in #FIFA22, all removed!

For the Women’s National Teams we can confirm that Japan will not return in FIFA 22 while Belgium and Portugal will be available in-game at launch. Brazil will feature in-game same as the Men’s National Team with real kits and badge but the roster will be filled with generic players.
For the Women's National Teams in #FIFA22 there will be 2 new additions:
🇧🇪 Belgium ✅
🇵🇹 Portugal ✅While 🇯🇵 Japan won't feature in the next FIFA instalment. ❌ pic.twitter.com/miDuwx2YEa
