FIFA 18 Server Release Notes [Update]

Following the whole backlash from the FIFA community in the recent days with the #FixFIFA movement, EA Sports decided to be more transparent about the game to its fans and released the first version of the Server Release Notes, a summary of the changes that have been made, and the issues that have been addressed, via server releases over a period of time, as they execute these releases frequently.

Here are their official statement on these notes:

“Many of the changes that we make on the server are focused on system improvements and maintenance, such as updates to our databases or refactoring code, and while they are essential to keeping the game running, they would not have a direct impact on your experience within the game, so these summaries will focus on the changes that do have a direct impact on your playing experience.

They will cover multiple versions of FIFA 18, including FIFA 18 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Switch, as well as FUT Web and The Companion App. When changes only apply to individual titles, that will be specifically identified.”

This is a summary of the changes that have been made via server releases between April 14th and June 18th, 2018.

Made the following changes on PS4/XB1/PC/Switch:
– The starheads that were added in the FIFA World Cup™ update are now available to use outside of the FIFA World Cup™ modes.
– To get access to them, make sure to download and use the latest rosters when playing.
– This means that existing save files that were created using older rosters will not show the new starheads. You will need to create a new save, using the new rosters, to have them show up in game.

Made the following changes in FIFA World Cup™ Ultimate Team on PS4/XB1/PC/Switch:
– Adjusted the situations where a player would receive the Single Player Pack match reward, from a FIFA World Cup™ Ultimate Team Online Tournament match, if the match ends in a disconnect.
– Added 63 new players to FIFA World Cup™ Ultimate Team.

Addressed the following issues in FIFA World Cup™ Ultimate Team on PS4/XB1/PC/Switch:
– The Squad screen tutorials were not loading correctly when selected from the help screen.
– Beginner difficulty was missing from the FIFA World Cup™ Ultimate Team Offline Tournament.

Addressed the following issues in FIFA World Cup™ Ultimate Team on PS4:
– Players purchasing FIFA Points from outside of the FUT Store, such as purchasing directly from the PlayStation Store, not receiving their FIFA Points if they logged into FIFA World Cup™ Ultimate Team before they logged into normal FUT.
– Players that were impacted just need to login to FUT or FIFA World Cup™ Ultimate Team in order to receive any outstanding FIFA Points due to the above issue.

Addressed the following issues in FIFA Ultimate Team on PS4/XB1/PC/Switch:
– Some players had their non-competitive FUT Leaderboard stats reset upon creating their FIFA World Cup™ Ultimate Team.
– Following the fix going live, a rollback of the FUT Leaderboards took place. The full details of that can be found here.
