FIFA 23: FUT Level Up Team 2 LIVE

Team 2 of FUT Level Up has arrived in Ultimate Team.

The second team of the latest FIFA Ultimate Team promo, FUT Level Up, is out with a fresh batch of cards for gamers to unlock. Just like Team 1, a selection of high tier cards are now available across objectives, FIFA Packs and SBCs.

What is FUT Level Up?

FUT Level Up is a special campaign by EA Sports that essentializes gameplay, in which a set of Base Level Up cards have to first be obtained through packs or bought off the FUT Transfer Market, which then allow players at home to complete personalized milestones in the objectives menu to unlock upgraded items, known as Premium Level Up cards.

Premium Level Up cards are boosted versions of their base counterparts, with the biggest improvements potentially in either Weak Foot, Skill Moves or even Premium Chemistry. Some cards are randomly selected to have two upgrades, with Premium Chemistry being a bonus to the upgraded Weak Foot or Skill Moves.

FUT Level Up Team 2

Team 2 will be out until July 21st. This will be the penultimate promo in the final year of FIFA Ultimate Team, as the collaboration with FIFA is soon to end with FIFA 23.

The Level Up cards in Team 2 are:

  • CM: Leon Goretzka (Bayern Munich) – Base 96 OVR / Premium 98 OVR with 4* WF

The most notable players on this list are Leon Goretzka, Raphaël Varane, Gabriel Martinelli and Aurélien Tchouaméni. They are all high tier meta cards that are now practically perfect so they are going to be expensive. But remember that you can unlock even better versions of them if you are willing to pay, and then resell.

You can do this by completing these special objectives found in the FUT Milestones tab called ‘Level Up Your Game II’:

FUT Level Up SBCS and Objectives

The Base Level Up cards in Team 2 that have been released as SBCs include:

LW: Ferran Torres (Barcelona) – Base 92 OVR

To get his Premium 94 with 5* SM: Assist in 20 separate matches using 93 OVR Level Up Ferran Torres in Squad Battles on min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions) while having min. 6 Spanish players in your starting 11.

LW: Martin Terrier (Stade Rennais) – Base 91 OVR

To get his Premium 93 with 5* SM:s Assist in 5 separate matches using 91 OVR Level Up Martin Terrier in Squad Battles on min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions) while having min. 3 Ligue 1 players in your starting 11.

To get his Premium 93 OVR with 5* WF:  Play 10 separate matches in Squad Battles on min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions) while having 91 OVR Level Up Witsel and exactly 5 La Liga players in your starting 11.

The Base Level Up cards that been released as objectives include:

ST: Raúl Jiménez (Wolves) – Base 92 OVR

  • Quick Through: Assist four goals with through balls in FUT matches.
  • Premier League Threat: Score ten goals in FUT matches using Premier League players.
  • Mexican Flair: Score and assist in three separate FUT matches using a Mexican player.
  • Winning Mentality: Win eight FUT matches while featuring three Premier League players in the squad.

Completing these unlock the Base 92 OVR card, as well as Jimenez’s Premium 94 OVR Milestone (5* WF), which is:

Score a Finesse shot in 5 separate matches in Squad Battles on min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions) with 91 OVR Level Up Raul Jimenez and exactly 5 Premier League players in your starting 11.

Earn an Untradeable PP with 1 of 3 Action Shot Choice Raul Jimenez = Allows the player to pick between 3 different dynamic images of Raul Jimenez on his 94 OVR Level Up card when the milestone is completed. This is the first time this concept has been added into Ultimate Team for the community.

Unlike the friendlies section for Team 1, there actually is a Cup in friendlies for players to earn some packs for the chance of packing a Base FUT Level Up card. The requirements are:

  • Play 5 matches in the Live FUT Friendly: Level Up Cup with min. 1 Level Up player in your starting lineup. – x1 84+ RARE GOLD PLAYER PACK
  • Win 1 match in the Live FUT Friendly: Level Up Cup with min. 1 Level Up player in your starting lineup. – x1 84+ RARE GOLD PLAYER PACK
  • Win 5 matches in the Live FUT Friendly: Level Up Cup with min. 1 Level Up player in your starting lineup. – x1 85+ 3 PLAYERS PACK
  • Win 7 matches in the Live FUT Friendly: Level Up Cup with min. 1 Level Up player in your starting lineup. – x1 SEVEN 84+ PLAYERS PACK
  • Win 10 matches in the Live FUT Friendly: Level Up Cup with min. 1 Level Up player in your starting lineup. – x1 FIVE 85+ PLAYERS PACK

With no sign of a FUT Level Up Guaranteed Pack, frustration throughout the community was very noticeable. The positive feedback EA would’ve hoped for this promo wasn’t there, unfortunately.

Whether it’s down to the odds of packing the Base Level Up cards, player choice or even the game being at the end of it’s cycle, this will not go down as a hugely successful promo in FUT. More like a concept that had great potential, but lacked in execution.

Next promo will be the FUTTIES which will more than likely conclude the FUT season in FIFA 23.
