The FIFA 13 Demo is finally here! Bellow you can download the PC version of the demo followed later by the Xbox 360 (10 AM – 2 PM UK Time) and PS3 (between 10 PM- 2 AM UK Time).
FIFA 13 Demo (PC) Download:
You need Origin to download the PC demo! Go to the Free Games Section and download it from there! The size of the demo is 2.27 GB!
Fixes for FIFA 13 PC Demo Bugs
- If you experience lag use D3DOverrider and enable/force tripple buffering and vsync on FIFA 13 exe. Also enable/force antialiasing on AMD Vision Engine Control Center (AMD/ATI) or Nvidia Control Panel (nVidia).
- For those with the Direct X crash issue please update your Direct X! Go here to find out how.
- If your controller has problems with the demo please download these Xbox360 controller files and put them in your main FIFA 13 Demo folder.
- For the keyboard users that have difficulties with the keyboard setup for the demo go in My Documents -> FIFA 12 and copy the file “buttonDATAsetup.ini” and paste it in the FIFA 13 folder from My Documents and FIFA 13 Demo folder.
- If you have this problem, turn off the Anti-aliasing and V-Sync from your graphic card Control Panel OR set Anti-alising mode to application-controlled.
- If you get the “APPCRASH” error select the fifaconfig.exe and FIFA 13 Demo.exe go to their Properties > Compatibility and select Win XP SP3 as compatibility mode.
- Try the next solution if the demo crashes before launching: Open C:/My Documents / FIFA 13 Demo / instance0, select “replay0.bin”, right-click, Properties/ Check read only. Thanks to FGB for the tip!
- If the game crashes before you start a match, go and update your graphic card drivers! nVidia – AMD/ATI
- If the demo crashes at the language page you need to re-install Windows Media Player! Tutorial here. The intro can’t run without WMP, so the demo crashes.
- Temporary fix for corners/penalties/freekicks crash: When you get a freekick or a corner, after the referee blows the whistle, press ESCAPE (ESC), then go to SETTINGS -> CONTROLLER -> and set it from KEYBOARD —-> to KEYBOARD+MOUSE, then resume the game, take the corner or the freekick with the mouse and then go back to settings and set back to KEYBOARD and continue playing with your settings! Thanks to cla13b for the solution!
- For those with heavy stuttering/lag:
From the fifaconfig.exe disable MSAA Options and Vsync and thick “Disable Windows Aero Theme”.For rendering quality is up to you how to set it but remember that an old PC would never run FIFA on High! Now follow the next steps:
Nvidia: Go to your graphic card control panel (right-click on desktop), go to Manage 3D Settings,Program Settings and add the FIFA 13 demo exe and set these settings for it. (At Texture Filtering – Quality put High Performance)
ATI: Get RadeonPro make a profile with the FIFA 13 Demo,select it,click on Profile > Visual and add these settings: Anti-Aliasing = Application Controlled, Anti-Aliasing Filter = Multisampling, Anti-Aliasing Mode = Multi Sample, Anisotropic Filtering = Application Controlled. From the Advance and Tweak tabs turn OFF Vsync & Tripple Buffering.
Note that these are only standard settings and will not fix your problem 100% because everyone has different specs. You can change and tweak the settings yourself until you reach an optimal configuration for your game and the lag and stuttering will stop. Also don’t forget to use the D3DOverrider!

- Another optional fix for the corners/penalties/freekicks crash can be found here.
- If you still get the crash before you start a match after you updated your graphic gards drivers try to ALT + Tab before you click play match,return to the game and enter the match.
- Another fix for the start up crash is to download msvcp100.dll & msvcr100.dll and place them inside “FIFA 13 Demo\Game” directory(where fifa13_demo.exe is there). Thanks to blade for the fix!

- The FIFA 13 PS3 Demo is available in the US PS store! Search for “FIFA 13” and get downloading.
- The FIFA 13 Demo is now available for everyone in the PS Store!
- EA Sports have released a patch that fixes the custom keyboard configurations and the crashes during corners and free kicks. Just open Origin and the patch will be downloaded and installed.

ea guys scrued things up badly with the keyboard configuration…and the game, after each custom config crushes.
i think i’m begining to be sorry for pre-ordering the game.

I am experience a gigantic lag when running FIFA13. I have an nVidia GeForce GTX460. I tried to update it but it says that it’s been already updated. I tried your method with D3DOverrider but i got the same lag
Try to run it on lower graphic settings and disable vsync and antialiasing on fifaconfig.exe.Also try this next trick: Start FIFA 13 Demo , CTRL + ALT + DELETE , go to processes, select fifa.exe and set priority above normal or higher.You must do this everytime you play the demo! If still not working, go to Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3d settings,select the FIFA 13 demo exe and update the maximum pre-rendered frames to 8.
Hey Fifa-Infinity, if there is a network problem while downloading, can Origin start again from where the link was broken??
Copying buttonDATAsetup.ini doens’t do anything for me. I can’t even change the functions with my Arrow keys, but the rest of the button can be changed. That sucks. Plus, when i have a corner the game crashes.
Honestly I don’t know mate. Never had any issue like that.
We are trying to find fixes for these issues mate.

i downloaded fifa 13 demo with origin, i installed it and when i click play it say that fifa 13 demo has stopped working. i click on details to see where the error is coming from and i see this:

The modding is very difficult now. EA changed the compression of the big and bh files and we need a new algoritm to manage to edit something. It will take some time for that.
Reinstall the demo.And clean your registry with CCleaner.

hey i got some problems with the game. whenever i click on the play button, the game starts, but sometimes freezes when messi is shown. when it actually get throught the messi screen, the game closes itself and nothing happens. any tipps?
Why does the game crash when I have to take a free kick or corner or a penalty? A friend told me that if I use a controller the game doesn’t crash. But I can’t spent 40 euros on a controller

It’s a bug created by some sort of keyboard error and the set pieces. Hope to find a fix soon, since many people have this problem.

Oh man, that keyboard – crash combo is game ending. I tried a dozen of times and at every set piece => crash. I didn’t even finised a single game cause of this.
And all PC keyboard players are having this. On top of this EA is slow as hell with updates on the current situation aka. non-existant.
it is horrible I can not play it I have a keyboard and I tried to set up controll but I can not changed arrows buttons I mean I can not even move with a player I did also what you said and I copied button setting from FIFA 12 but again one more problem in a controll panel and also when I tried to play a game I still saw blue circle and every player was following this circle and kicked ball away so I am so scared from it 😀 I od not know even how to play it with a keyboard if there is not going to be any way how to fix it I finish with this game ;/ let me know through email if somebody knows how to fix that problem 🙂

Have tried pasting the button config from FIFA 12 into FIFA 13 folders but still doesn’t work, hopefully a fix for this can be found, because these default button configs are doing my head in.
I do not understand why they did not left same controlls for keyboards than in fifa 12 with this new controls it is horrible to play also with this new function one touch or how they call it players get a ball then balls always runs 2 meters away if I am playing with keyboard and moving with numbers 4268 players are not running like they have to it is all crap 🙁 I think I will buy only ps3 version if that will be better to play I preffer pc more than ps3 because I always played fifa on my laptop in fifa 12 I had not problem to play World Class mode but it looks that fifa 12 was last good pc football which was able to play with keyboard
Lagging on 4 gb RAM & ATI 5770 HD. But it shouldn’t. Whats wrong ? I’ve applied the vsync & triple buffering. NO SOLUTION 🙁
