FUTTIES: The Last Promo of FIFA 23

As the current FUT season is coming to an end with the very last FIFA game ran by EA Sports, everyone is hoping that EA will end things with a bang. They seem to be planning for just that, as the infamously loved FUTTIES is jam-packed with content for the FUT Community.

What is FUTTIES? 

FUTTIES is an annual summer-themed promo that celebrates the most used players in FUT 23 by awarding them super boosted upgrades. These aren’t the standard upgrades in specific attributes such as pace, but rather every stat, weak foot, skill moves, player traits and Premium Chemistry.

It is universally appreciated by the FUT Community due to the fantastic cards and heavy content that arrives in-game once live. The well-known pink coloured cards have never entered the FUT store, as every FUTTIES card were released via SBCs or Objectives.

The promo is also cherished for the re-release of many popular FUT cards, as older card types such as TOTY Icons or TOTY Honourable Mentions are put into packs again. These are called ‘FUT Re-Release Batches’.

However, EA are switching up the usual promo plan and have created a special team of FUTTIES cards that are to be obtained from the FUT store as well. This is to add value and speciality to these cards, and with the boosts they’ve received, it makes sense.

It is believed that there will be multiple teams in packs over the coming weeks.

FUTTIES Team 1

The first FUTTIES team include the following players:

• ST: Cristiano Ronaldo (Al-Nassr) – 99 OVR with 5* WF and Premium Chemistry
• RW: Ángel Di María (Benfica) – 97 OVR with 5* WF and Premium Chemistry
• ST: Julián Álvarez (Manchester City) – 97 OVR with 5* SM and 5* WF
• CB: Joe Gomez (Liverpool) – 96 OVR with 5* WF
• CM: Ismaël Bennacer (AC Milan) – 95 OVR with 5* WF
• CM: Gedson Fernandes (Beşiktaş) – 94 OVR with 5* WF and Premium Chemistry

Not a huge pool of FUTTIES, but the ones that have been included are absolute stellar. Cristiano Ronaldo has noticeably had less popular high tier cards this year due to a shaky footballing season, but he was due for an incomparable card at some point. The 99-rated FUTTIES card with a 5* WF, as well as Premium Chemistry to compensate for the lack of chemistry points he can earn, is undoubtedly one of the greatest cards in FUT history!

Of course, a great card such as this one comes at a great price, and he is now extinct on the FUT Transfer Market and has only been spotted on there a handful of times. There is no doubt that these FUTTIES cards have received a boosted value never seen before.

The only noticeably high tier cards of Team 1 which are not extinct are the two Argentines, Ángel Di María and the UEFA Champions League winner with Manchester City, Julián Álvarez.

With the start of the new season, football fans like placing bets on football events, and they follow the best odds for FIFA games and football in general, like the Champions League odds and others online.

FUTTIES Re-Release Batch 1

The biggest re-release include TOTY Icon Ronaldinho (95 LW), TOTY Icon Ruud Gullit (94 CF) and TOTY Icon Edwin Van Der Sar (92 GK). Extremely rare cards throughout the FIFA 23 season are now back, so you can complete your Ultimate Team.

FUTTIES SBCs and Objectives 

It cannot be the FUTTIES promo without the content outside of packs. The SBCs that have been released so far are:

This card is no joke. With Son already having a base 5* WF and a FUT favourite, these upgrades have perfected the winger.

This is completely new, a FUTTIES Hero! The card already gives Premier League cards Chemistry Points, but now boosts any player, making him a fantastic option to fill in the striker spot.

Bear in mind that these cards are available till the end of the Live FUT Cycle, so getting these cards for free is possible over time.

For the Objectives we have:

LWB: Robin Gosens (Inter Milan) – 93 OVR with 5* SM and 5*WF

• German Precision: Assist 6 goals using German players in Squad Battles on Min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions).
• Tactical Aim: Score a goal during 3 separate matches in Squad Battles on Min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions) using a player from Serie A.
• Flash Through: Assist 3 goals using Through Balls in Squad Battles on min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions).
• Fine Touch: Score 2 Finesse Goals in Squad Battles on min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions).
• Winning Touch: Win 8 matches in Squad Battles on Min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions) having Min. 3 German players in your Starting XI.

CB – Gian Marco Ferrari (Sassuolo) – 92 OVR with Premium Chemistry

• Speed Up – Score 6 goals using players with Min. 80 PAC in Squad Battles on Min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions)
• Clear Up – Assist 4 goals using Through Balls in Squad Battles on Min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions).
• Defensive Effort – Score in 4 separate matches while having Min. 4 Defenders in your starting 11 in Squad Battles on Min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions).
• Italian Effort – Win 6 matches in Squad Battles on Min. Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rivals and FUT Champions) having Min. 3 Italian players in your starting 11.

There is a FUTTIES Cup for those needing some packs to increase their odds of getting these crazy cards. The FUTTIES Cup requires:

• PLAY 5 [XP]:  Play 5 matches in the Live FUT Friendly: FUTTIES Cup – 83+ DOUBLE PLAYERS PACK AND 400 XP
• Win 1: Win 1 match in the Live FUT Friendly: FUTTIES Cup. – THREE 83+ PLAYER PACK
• Win 5:  Win 5 matches in the Live FUT Friendly: Futties Cup. – THREE 85+ PLAYERS PACK
• Win 7: Win 7 matches in the Live FUT Friendly: Futties Cup. – SEVEN 84+ PLAYERS PACK
• Win 10: Win 10 matches in the Live FUT Friendly: Futties Cup. – FIVE 85+ PLAYERS PACK

So far this promo has received mix reviews from the FUT Community. The upgraded FUTTIES cards are much appreciated but many feel the novelty of having them only in SBCs and Objectives was what made the promo feel alive, and the Re-Released Batch 1 has only a few cards worth packing, while the rest remain desirable.

However, the content has still been plentiful and many players can be found busy in looking to upgrade their teams. The rarer, better and more valuable FUTTIES cards can be labelled as the engineer behind the movement.

More teams of FUTTIES and Re-Released Batches are scheduled for the following weeks, let’s hope that the last promo in FIFA will be remembered fondly.
