FC 25 TOTW 20: Sandro Tonali Headlines a Lackluster Squad

The 20th Team of the Week (TOTW) in FC 25 Ultimate Team is here, and it’s another mixed bag. While Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali is the standout with an 87-rated card, the squad as a whole lacks major star power, continuing the trend of underwhelming TOTW releases.

With Team of the Year (TOTY) wrapping up and the highly anticipated Future Stars promo on the horizon, many Ultimate Team fans are questioning the relevance of TOTW. Despite some solid inclusions, this week’s lineup seems to serve more as SBC fodder rather than must-have players for squads.

Key Highlights from TOTW 20

Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali is the biggest name in TOTW 20, earning an 87-rated item following his recent standout performance. His in-game effectiveness has dipped compared to earlier in the game cycle, but this upgrade, combined with potential Evolutions, could make him viable again.

EA has selected Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez and Bournemouth’s Dango Ouattara as the Featured TOTW players, both receiving 86-rated special items. Lopez’s inclusion follows his dominant display against Valencia, where he racked up two goals and two assists in Barcelona’s commanding victory.

Beyond the headliners, Josko Gvardiol, Riyad Mahrez, Romelu Lukaku, and Vivianne Miedema all make the squad with 86-rated cards. While these players are strong on paper, the overall excitement surrounding TOTW 20 remains low due to the lack of truly meta-breaking cards.

Another Forgettable TOTW?

TOTW selections have faced criticism in EA FC 25, with many players feeling they are overshadowed by promotional content like TOTY and Future Stars. While Tonali and a handful of others could be useful for certain squads, most of these items will likely be used in Upgrade SBCs rather than in Weekend League matches.

With Future Stars around the corner, EA may shift its focus towards more impactful content soon. Until then, TOTW remains in a tough spot, struggling to capture the attention of the Ultimate Team community.
