EA SPORTS FC 25 is gearing up for its highly anticipated release, and fans are buzzing with excitement. EA has just revealed a slew of new features and enhancements that promise to take the football simulation experience to new heights. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming in FC 25.
Rush: The New 5v5 Mode
FC 25 brings a fresh twist with “Rush,” a 5v5 game mode that replaces VOLTA. This mode is designed for intense, fast-paced action on a smaller pitch. Games are quick, lasting just 7 minutes with a golden goal period if tied, and an AI-controlled goalkeeper ensures the game stays fluid with four human players per team.
Positions are dynamic, requiring players to adapt constantly. The kickoff is a thrilling race to the ball, akin to Rocket League, and the offside rule only applies in the final third. Unique blue cards introduce a one-minute sin bin, adding a strategic layer to fouls, while penalty kicks are a one-on-one showdown with the keeper from the final third line.
FC IQ System: Smarter Gameplay
FC 25 introduces the FC IQ system, revolutionizing how you control and strategize your team. The outdated work rates system is replaced with specific roles like Playmaker or Box-to-Box, deeply influencing player behavior on the pitch. Players now have varying levels of familiarity with these roles, from basic competence to world-class expertise, adding depth to your tactical decisions.
Preset tactics like Tiki-taka or Gegenpressing are readily available, and you can customize strategies using sliders for precise control. Real-time tactical suggestions via the D-pad keep you adaptive during matches, while coordinated player movements enhance the game’s fluidity and realism.
Gameplay Improvements
The new HyperMotion V Technology brings authentic running styles to over 1,800 players, capturing both upper and lower body movements. Goalkeepers get six new PlayStyles, and a new professional foul button allows for strategic fouling. Passing accuracy is more realistic, eliminating those frustratingly perfect 180-degree passes unless a player’s stats support it.
Goalkeepers can now only be manually moved a couple of steps in any direction, adding more realism. Additionally, five new skill moves, collision animations, and improved player interactions with goalposts and advertising hoardings make the game feel more lifelike.
Ultimate Team Updates
Ultimate Team sees several exciting changes in FC 25. Storage for duplicate untradeable cards has increased to 100 slots, making squad management easier. Player evolutions now come with customizable visuals, and the FC IQ integration means special cards can get updated roles based on real-world performances.
Manager cards allow for instant implementation of tactical styles like Pep Guardiola’s Tiki-taka. Friendlies and Rivals have been decoupled, with friendlies featuring varied skill levels and Rivals introducing a points-based system for rewards with relegation. Contracts are now a thing of the past, streamlining player and manager items.
Career Mode Enhancements
Career Mode gets a significant overhaul in FC 25. Women’s teams can now be managed in Career Mode, with five leagues and the Women’s Champions League included. You can start your career based on real-life season progress, thanks to the Live Start Points feature. Player Career Mode now includes Icons like Andrea Pirlo and Thierry Henry, with more to come throughout the season.
The Youth Academy system is expanded, offering more specific search options and realistic youth player appearances. Player origins and social media integration add depth to your career journey, while new AI behavior and increased substitutes bring fresh challenges and flexibility.
Clubs Improvements
Clubs mode gets several enhancements, including the integration of the Rush mode. Winning games in Rush boosts individual and team ranks on global leaderboards. Relegation battles return, adding tension to your club’s journey.
Facility management allows club managers to allocate budgets toward attributes that boost gameplay. The new dynamic Clubhouse screen and enhanced avatar customization make your club feel unique. A third PlayStyle Plus slot provides more flexibility, with the maximum player height capped at 6’5” for balance.
General Changes
FC 25 also brings general improvements across the board. A single season pass now covers Career Mode, Ultimate Team, and Clubs, making progression seamless. The new EA Sports Cranium technology enhances player likenesses, and dynamic weather and time progression add realism to matches.
Celebrations with mascots, broadcast enhancements, and more sideline action make the game feel more immersive. Two graphics modes cater to different preferences, and full pre-match intros are back for added authenticity.
FC 25 will be released worldwide on September 27, 2024, and will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
