Levyfinn Wins the 2025 Virtual Bundesliga Grand Final

The Virtual Bundesliga Grand Final 2025 has come to an end, and Germany has a new EA FC champion. Levy Finn “RBLZ_Levyfinn” Rieck claimed the title after a strong performance in Cologne, defeating teammate Anders “RBLZ_vejrgang” Vejrgang in a close 2-1 final match.

This win not only secured him the championship trophy but also €40,000 in prize money, the biggest share of the event’s €100,000 prize pool.

Competitive gaming events like this continue to grow in popularity, much like online platforms such as Posido Cur casino, where users also engage in digital experiences that mix entertainment with strategy.

How the Tournament Worked

The road to the Grand Final was long and competitive. A total of 32 players started in the online group stage, which ran from April 15 to 17. Players were split into two groups of 16 and played in a Swiss system format, where matchups were based on win-loss records.

The top five players in each group advanced directly to the knockout stage in Cologne. Six more players earned their spots through an intermediate round, filling the remaining slots in the top 16.

From there, it was a single-elimination format, with each round played over two legs. If the scores were tied after two matches, extra time and penalties were used to decide the winner.

A Two-Day Knockout Battle in Cologne

The final stage of the competition took place on April 26 and 27 at BASE in Cologne. After weeks of online qualifiers and a group stage, the top 16 players in Germany met in person for the final rounds of the VBL Grand Final by WOW, the most important 1v1 tournament in German esports.

On Saturday, April 26, the round of 16 was played across four time slots. Only eight players moved on to Sunday’s quarter-finals. The final day began with the quarter-finals at 15:00, followed by semi-finals, and the much-awaited final match, which kicked off around 19:00.

The Final: Teammates Face Off

Both finalists, Levyfinn and Vejrgang, represent RBLZ Gaming, the esports division of RB Leipzig. The final was played in EA SPORTS FC 25’s Ultimate Team mode, just like the rest of the tournament. After a tight match, Levyfinn came out on top, taking revenge for his defeat in the previous year’s final.

Speaking after the win, the 22-year-old said, “Winning the individual championship in addition to the VBL Club Championship is an unbelievable feeling. Coming back like this after my final defeat last year means a lot to me.”

This victory also means Levyfinn completed a rare double, having already helped RB Leipzig win the VBL Club Championship earlier in the season.

Prize Money and World Championship Spots

The total prize pool for the tournament was €100,000, with the top four players earning the following:

  • 1st place: Levyfinn (RB Leipzig) – €40,000
  • 2nd place: Vejrgang (RB Leipzig) – €20,000
  • Joint 3rd: Jonny (VfL Bochum) and KKoray (FC Bayern) – €7,500 each

Besides the money, top players also earned places at international events. Since Vejrgang had already qualified for the upcoming EA SPORTS FC Pro World Championship, the third-place playoff had extra weight. In that match, Jonny defeated KKoray to claim the extra World Championship ticket.

What’s Next for Levyfinn?

With this win, Levyfinn not only becomes Germany’s top individual EA FC player for 2025, but also goes into the EA SPORTS FC Pro World Championship as one of the players to watch. His recent form and confidence will make him a strong contender on the international stage.

The 2025 VBL Grand Final has once again shown the depth of talent in German eFootball. And for Levyfinn, the weekend in Cologne was a perfect way to finish what has already been an outstanding season.
