EA Sport Predicts Argentina To Win World Cup 2022

By simulating the tournament in FIFA 23, EA Sports predicted Argentina as the 2022 World Cup winners.

Following the release of the World Cup Update in FIFA 23, EA Sports continued their tradition of simulating all 64 matches of the tournament and predict the final outcome.

After correctly predicting the last three winners in 2010, 2014, and 2018, EA Sports used FIFA 23 and the dedicated FIFA World Cup 2022 mode to simulate and predict that Messi and Co. will lift the trophy at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar.

The simulation sees Brazil, Argentina, Germany, and France easily advance to the Round of 16 and the Quarterfinals. England is eliminated in the Round of 16 while the USA, the Netherlands, Croatia and Portugal managed to qualify for the next round.

The Quarterfinals featured some fierce competition, with Brazil avenging their 1-7 humiliating loss to Germany in 2018 by defeating Die Mannschaft 3-0. The other semifinalists predicted by EA’s simulation were Portugal, Argentina, and France. These predictions might also help with your world cup football betting.

According to the simulation, Argentina and Brazil will face off in the final to be decided by a single goal scored by none other than Lionel Messi thus awarding Albiceleste their third World Cup trophy in the history.

For the third place, France managed to defeat Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal 4-2.

After scoring in the final, Lionel Messi won the Golden Boot with 8 goals followed by Netherlands’ Mempnhis Depay and France’s Kylian Mbappe with 6 goals each. The Golden Ball was also awarded to Lionel Messi as the tournament’s best player. The Golden Glove went to Messi’s teammate, Emiliano Martínez.

EA Sports also shared the Team Of The Tournament that feature the next 11 players:

  • Emiliano Martínez – ARG
  • João Cancelo – POR
  • Raphaël Varane – FRA
  • Marquinhos – BRA
  • Marcos Acuña – ARG
  • Leandro Paredes – ARG
