A Closer Look at the eSerie A TIM Finals

The Grand Finals of the eSerie A unfolded in Verona, Italy, marking a new chapter with the crowning of a new champion amidst stunning upsets.

Here’s a breakdown of the pivotal moments from the final day, which determined who advanced to the eChampions League and the FC Pro World Championship this summer.

Quarter-finals

ExeedVirgil_ created the first major upset of the tournament by taking down Antonini Gabriel in a surprising 6-3 victory. Despite Gabriel’s dominance throughout the eSerieA TIM regular season, ExeedVirgil_’s persistent attacks paid off, capitalizing on Gabriel’s defensive errors.

DaniPitbull showcased why he is considered one of the eSerie A TIM’s all-time greats with a commanding 6-3 win over OliBoli. His early goal set the pace, and despite OliBoli’s attempts to counter, DaniPitbull‘s superior game IQ and offensive play sealed the win.

Luconegua delivered the tournament’s biggest shock, ousting former champion Obrun2002 with a resounding 7-1 victory. Dominating from the start, Luconegua’s aggressive strategy left no room for a comeback, ending Obrun’s tournament hopes early.

Hezers smoothly advanced to the semi-finals with a solid 4-2 victory over Cosimo Guarneri. Despite a brief comeback from Cosimo, Hezers quickly regained control, securing his victory with strategic gameplay.

Semi-finals

ExeedVirgil_ continued his remarkable run, defeating two-time champion DaniPitbull 2-0. Virgil outclassed Pitbull throughout the match, showcasing exceptional defensive skills and scoring critical goals.

In a thrilling nine-goal match, Hezers edged out Luconegua 5-4. The match was a back-and-forth affair, with Hezers staging a dramatic comeback to clinch the win.

Finals

Hezers dominated ExeedVirgil_ over two legs, securing the eSerie A title with an aggregate score of 15-5. His relentless pressure in the first game set the tone for his overwhelming victory, leaving ExeedVirgil_ struggling to find a response.

Awards and Accolades

The tournament also celebrated individual excellence with several awards. Obrun received the Best Goal Award by Goleador for his spectacular strike against Udinese eSports D-Link. Hezers earned the MVP Award by Fritz, and Andrea “XSale98” Ferrara of Empoli FC Esports was honored with the FAIR Play Award – City of Verona.

This year’s eSerie A TIM finals not only highlighted the skill and strategy of its competitors but also set the stage for the upcoming FC Pro World Championship, promising more thrilling action and showcasing the evolving landscape of eSports.
