EA Sports FC 25’s Top Rated Enjoying Mixed Bag Start

EA Sports FC 25’s top rated enjoying mixed bag start.

One of the biggest stories surrounding the release of EA Sports FC 25 was, of course, the player ratings.

Each year this aspect of the game garners all sorts of chatter, from message boards and fans sites to even, believe it or not, odds offered on betting sites in the UK on the matter. It’s big news.

But here we are, a few months into the 2024/25 season in the major European Leagues, and we can see how those ratings have stacked up. How have those top-rated players fared out in the real word? And as we will see, it’s been a mixed bag.

Kylian Mbappé – Overall Rating of 91

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi now playing their football out of the spotlight of the top European Leagues, much of the focus has fallen upon another world superstar, one Kylian Mbappé. And it was a busy summer for the French icon as he secured the highest profile move of the year upon leaving Paris Saint-Germain and joining European Champions Real Madrid. And it’s fair to say it’s not been a vintage start for the attacker.

Mbappé is a goalscorer and will always be judged on his numbers. And his numbers in Paris were second to none. But it’s been a quietish start to his Madrid career as the Frenchman has been easily outscored in domestic football by the likes of Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski, and has even played second fiddle to teammate Vinícius Júnior. But perhaps the biggest story has been the perception of how Mbappe’s presence has messed with the finely balanced team that coach Carlo Ancelotti had put together.

As a result, Real’s results have been mixed to say the least. Not a brilliant start for Mbappe.

Rodri – Overall Rating of 91

Rodri endured an eventful start to the season. His form continued on from his country’s European Championship success, and he soon claimed global football’s number one individual accolade, the Ballon d’Or. But then disaster struck as the midfielder endured a season-ending knee ligament injury. And it is an injury that has wreaked havoc on his club’s season, justifying more than ever the player’s individual value.

Rodri is unlikely to feature again in the 2024/25 campaign – Manchester City and Spain will count the cost.

Erling Haaland – Overall Rating of 91

Norwegian goal machine Haaland continues to do what he does best. The player once again comfortably leads the Premier League goalscoring charts and is also among the most prolific in the Champions League. But much like Rodri, Haaland’s individual value continues to grow while his team’s status suffers.

Manchester City find themselves miles behind Liverpool in the Premier League title race, while the team also battles for one of the automatic qualification places in the Champions League. But Haaland just keeps on scoring, justifying that EA rating.

Jude Bellingham – Overall Rating of 90

Jude Bellingham, another Real Madrid player with a huge reputation, has also endured a slow start to the season. Bellingham is perhaps suffering a European Championships hangover after his team, England, were beaten in the final. But in what is potentially an even more significant turn of events, Bellingham’s position in the Madrid side has been tweaked after the arrival of Mbappe.

There have been considerably fewer goal involvements as Bellingham finds himself playing deeper after the Frenchman’s arrival. But more significantly, his general influence has waned at the same time as his team’s results have suffered. More is expected of this incredible player as Ancelotti and Madrid look for that winning formula.
