The FIFA 13 Demo is finally here! Bellow you can download the PC version of the demo followed later by the Xbox 360 (10 AM – 2 PM UK Time) and PS3 (between 10 PM- 2 AM UK Time).
FIFA 13 Demo (PC) Download:
You need Origin to download the PC demo! Go to the Free Games Section and download it from there! The size of the demo is 2.27 GB!
Fixes for FIFA 13 PC Demo Bugs
- If you experience lag use D3DOverrider and enable/force tripple buffering and vsync on FIFA 13 exe. Also enable/force antialiasing on AMD Vision Engine Control Center (AMD/ATI) or Nvidia Control Panel (nVidia).
- For those with the Direct X crash issue please update your Direct X! Go here to find out how.
- If your controller has problems with the demo please download these Xbox360 controller files and put them in your main FIFA 13 Demo folder.
- For the keyboard users that have difficulties with the keyboard setup for the demo go in My Documents -> FIFA 12 and copy the file “buttonDATAsetup.ini” and paste it in the FIFA 13 folder from My Documents and FIFA 13 Demo folder.
- If you have this problem, turn off the Anti-aliasing and V-Sync from your graphic card Control Panel OR set Anti-alising mode to application-controlled.
- If you get the “APPCRASH” error select the fifaconfig.exe and FIFA 13 Demo.exe go to their Properties > Compatibility and select Win XP SP3 as compatibility mode.
- Try the next solution if the demo crashes before launching: Open C:/My Documents / FIFA 13 Demo / instance0, select “replay0.bin”, right-click, Properties/ Check read only. Thanks to FGB for the tip!
- If the game crashes before you start a match, go and update your graphic card drivers! nVidia – AMD/ATI
- If the demo crashes at the language page you need to re-install Windows Media Player! Tutorial here. The intro can’t run without WMP, so the demo crashes.
- Temporary fix for corners/penalties/freekicks crash: When you get a freekick or a corner, after the referee blows the whistle, press ESCAPE (ESC), then go to SETTINGS -> CONTROLLER -> and set it from KEYBOARD —-> to KEYBOARD+MOUSE, then resume the game, take the corner or the freekick with the mouse and then go back to settings and set back to KEYBOARD and continue playing with your settings! Thanks to cla13b for the solution!
- For those with heavy stuttering/lag:
From the fifaconfig.exe disable MSAA Options and Vsync and thick “Disable Windows Aero Theme”.For rendering quality is up to you how to set it but remember that an old PC would never run FIFA on High! Now follow the next steps:
Nvidia: Go to your graphic card control panel (right-click on desktop), go to Manage 3D Settings,Program Settings and add the FIFA 13 demo exe and set these settings for it. (At Texture Filtering – Quality put High Performance)
ATI: Get RadeonPro make a profile with the FIFA 13 Demo,select it,click on Profile > Visual and add these settings: Anti-Aliasing = Application Controlled, Anti-Aliasing Filter = Multisampling, Anti-Aliasing Mode = Multi Sample, Anisotropic Filtering = Application Controlled. From the Advance and Tweak tabs turn OFF Vsync & Tripple Buffering.
Note that these are only standard settings and will not fix your problem 100% because everyone has different specs. You can change and tweak the settings yourself until you reach an optimal configuration for your game and the lag and stuttering will stop. Also don’t forget to use the D3DOverrider!

- If you still get the crash before you start a match after you updated your graphic gards drivers try to ALT + Tab before you click play match,return to the game and enter the match.
- Another fix for the start up crash is to download msvcp100.dll & msvcr100.dll and place them inside “FIFA 13 Demo\Game” directory(where fifa13_demo.exe is there). Thanks to blade for the fix!

- EA Sports have released a patch that fixes the custom keyboard configurations and the crashes during corners and free kicks. Just open Origin and the patch will be downloaded and installed.

For all you guys thinking the end product will be like this demo then you are wrong. This demo is just a taste of the game and doesnt mean the full game will be exactly like it. I just hope the keyboard settings can be altered in the full game like in 12.
I hope it should be better and that keyboard setting will be than before if not then it is not point for me to buy this game…

I encounter an issue. When i try to download Fifa 13 demo from store.origin.com the link appears to be broken or something like that. I have tryied with IExplorer and Google Chrome, I have deleted the cookies and the cache memorym but still nothing. This is the message I receive:

I found on google that i have to change grapphic to medium or high but when i do it fifa is slow and it has so much lag…HELP!!!

hello everyone! i’ve got a trick to skip the crash when you take a corner or a free kick… when you enter the game, normaly set your own button configuration and then start the match, when you’ve got the free kick or the corner, after the referee blows the whistle, press the ESCAPE, then go to SETTINGS -> CONTROLLER -> and set it from KEYBOARD —-> to KEYBOARD+MOUSE, then resume the game, take the corner or the free kick with the mouse and then go back to settings and set back to KEYBOARD and continue playing with your settings! I think it’s a little bit anoying but also i think it’s better then getting the crash! 😉
I had the same problem and I managed to solve it. Here is what you have to do:
1. Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
2. Open with Notepad the file named “hosts”
3. Delete any address that contains “origin”. (e.g. “127.0.0.1 store.origin.com”)
It seams that this thing is blocking you to access the Origin store.
Use our lag fix tips from the list above.
When does this error occur?
You need Origin to download it. A direct link won’t do anything.
when i click play it say that fifa 13 demo has stopped working. I downloaded the game in D:/Downloads, not in the C disk, because i only have 800 MB free space.

Probably because you downloaded it into Downloads instead of the C drive. Delete some stuff off your C drive and install it again. That might fix it.
If I want to update my ATI card driver do I need to have the latest net.framework?

I have found a great solution on how to play on keyboard, and it won’t crash when you use the arrows:
1. Go to EAS FC MATCH DAY.
2. Press KICK OFF.
3. Select the Teams.
4. Press Controller.
5. At Control Device, select Keyboard Only.
6. After that, go to Attack (next section) and change the Preset from Classic to Alternate. That’s it, if you select this, you will be able to play with the arrows, without crashing. You can change the keys if you want to play like in FIFA 07 or FIFA 12.
7. Click Esc and Select Temporary Configuration.
8. Click Play Match and Play the game.

for all you keyboard users, I saw at the ea forum that the keyboard crash will be fixed in the full version.. as for the demo, I think they’re trying to resolve it, but nowhere did I found any info on when will it be or if it will be released.

I fix corner kicks crashes…you have to edit buttonDataKeyBoardMouse.ini file with your favorite controls buttons, save and then disable writing (set read-only).
If you don’t know how to setting the file,copy from settings Fifa 12 ButtonDataSetup.ini in Documents. 😉

EA Sports released a patch update for this problem. Open Origin and the patch will be installed. If it doesn’t work check our fixes list above for optional fixes.
Is there any error that shows up?
Try to alt + tab before you start the match,go back and start the game and see if it works.

i have a problem i downloaded the demo frm an external mirror cox cudnt downld frm origin due to low speed so i applied the crack which is available of the demo to get rid of the orgin the game ran fine no lags n very smooth but today i installed the demo expandr by wolf the game ran and crashed aftr 2 seconds i ran again the game didnt start at all so i tried origin replacd craked one wid original copied whole folder to origin games installd it via origin now whenever i launch it frm origin it says launchng fifa 13 but nothing happens i have a high rig and ive played the demo smoothly help guys why isnt fifa running on my pc anymore?

Just uninstall the demo expander.Check the FIFA13 Demo main folder for the uninstall option.
The patch released by EA yesterday fixes the problem. Just open Origin and the patch will get installed.

Is there a way to set the keyboard for permanent settings because the whole game gets resets whenever i quit. It shows the whole settings again like choose the team and the “Hospitality Crap” Dialog Box anyway to fix this?
The first time settings like alternate classic ,liking to football etc and the controller manual semi manual settings etc do not get saved.
Setting it each time is tad tedious .PLease anybody can help to fix these ??
my demo crashes at “EA sports Its i —-” thats when the game crashes, what is the solution for it,
the game starts but crashes after the language selection page it goes like this , the video starts ” Ea —” i see a glimpse of the page and it crashes, i tried the above fix of re installing WMP but no help it still crashes, Guys what should i Do?

Download it from Origin. Downloading the demo from an external link won’t work.
There is no option for that in the demo.
Try some of the fixes that we listed above.
Restart router.
No fix for that. You need to set your controller everytime you start the demo unfortunately.
Update the graphic cards.
